Today’s tip: Find at least one thing in your space that you can get rid of.

Look around your home. What is bumming you out about this space the most right now? A pile of paperwork? The knickknack gathering dust on your shelf? Whatever it is, get rid of it.

“Actual science bears this out: Your space affects your mood,” Forge editor Kelli María Korducki explains. “A decluttered living environment equals a happier you.” Korducki suggests rooting out specific items that bring you down, like gifts from exes or projects you’re never going to tackle. Pick one offending object and chuck it out or give it away.
