Say this to a friend today
💬 Today’s tip: Tell your friends “I love you.”
Friendships are vital to our well-being — some research suggests even more so than our relationships with spouses or relatives. Unlike those other close relationships, though, declarations of love are not a given between friends. It’s up to us to decide to make the leap. And we should.
Try it: End your next text conversation or phone call with “I love you.”
Our culture doesn’t really have any purpose-built rituals for honoring friendships. But ritual is important: It affirms that we are a part of each other’s life stories. We can and should create our own, and “I love you” is a great place to start.
