🏖️ Today’s tip: Giving yourself an itinerary can make a day off feel like a real vacation — even under lockdown.

With a little effort, it really is possible to make a day off work feel like an escape, or at least a reset. The key, as Negin Safdari wrote in Forge, is to do a little planning.

Research any virtual activities you might want to do, like a yoga class or a virtual museum tour.

Pick out some special meals and get everything in place to make them happen, whether that means doing your grocery shopping ahead of time or scheduling a delivery order.

“Pack” any supplies you’ll need: Dig board games out of the back of the closet, make a playlist for a relaxing bath, stick a bottle of wine in the fridge to chill. Map out how you want to fill the day, and then enjoy your mini-vacation.
