Take Your Eye Off the Prize

And focus on what you can make each day instead

We live in a society that equates milestones with fulfillment. Graduating from college, getting the new job, becoming a parent, starting a business — all these single moments are the “prizes” that you’re told are supposed to make you feel like a better person. Or maybe if not better, definitely at least changed.

I think differently. I think that instead of keeping your eye on the prize (whichever one you’re supposed to be working towards right now), you should take your eye off the prize. You should stop looking straight and start looking down.

Where are your feet right now?

What can you do today that will make you feel good about yourself?

How can you show up for your business or family or friends in a way that moves your needle closer towards happiness?

Goals are great and we should look towards them every so often, but only looking at them and never looking away is just not a happy way to live life.
