💓 Today’s tip: Volunteer to help a neighbor in a small, tangible way.

Whether or not you’ve hit the dreaded “pandemic wall,” you’re probably itching for a dose of optimism. They key is to look outward, and see how you might be of use to somebody else.

As Kelli María Korducki writes in Forge, “Research shows that acting altruistically activates your brain’s reward center. Being kind feels good.”

Whether you’re helping a neighbor schedule her vaccine appointment or delivering groceries to a family in need, you’ll get a boost from being of use to someone else. You might even inspire others to follow your lead. Everybody wins.
