Today’s tip: Look at the things you needed the most in 2020, then ask how you can give them to yourself in 2021.

A better, kinder way to think about what you want from the year ahead: Instead of pursuing a “new you” in 2021, the writer afrobella argues in ZORA, channel that energy into reconnecting with your old self.

“In a time where your favorite restaurants and bars are closed, you can’t shop in stores, and all of your favorite distractions have been stripped away, what do you do to keep your mind busy and spirit satisfied?” she writes. “I realized this year that I didn’t really know the answer to that as clearly as I need to.” Now’s a great time to check back in with some old goals, revisit hobbies you’ve fallen away from, and search your memory for things that used to bring you joy.
