🕰️ Today’s tip: Learn the points in the day when your energy dips, and plan around them.

The two o’clock slump isn’t a universal phenomenon—we all have different patterns throughout the day, different times when our energy ebbs and flows. For the writer Henry Andrews, the low point comes around dusk. “What gets me through those hours is the knowledge that this is my daily rhythm, and it will pass soon,” he explains.

Pay attention to your own energy ups and downs, and plan your workday around them. When your low point comes, “think of yourself as being stuck on a boring bus ride,” Andrews writes. “You’re not going to get anything useful done, but you will get to the end of the journey in a reasonably predictable amount of time, and things will pick up.” Until then, take a break.
