Everything You Need to Know About Navigating Life, Courtesy of a Kids’ Book
Charlie Mackesy’s “The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse” takes simple living to a new and beautiful level
You know when you see someone do something and you think to yourself, “I’ll never be that good!” so you don’t even try. I experienced this feeling the other day when reading Charlie Machesy’s hit children’s book, “The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse.”
I’ve been mapping out a few kids’ books as research for a project of my own. Charlie’s words and illustrations made me want to throw my dream away. It’s not only a masterpiece for kids but for people of all ages.
I’m not sure I’d label it as self-help, but it sure does give a solid glimpse of what self-help could be and arguably should be. It’s thoughtful. It’s soft. It’s clear that Charlie listens as each of his characters—their words stick to you and stay with you. Every page holds wisdom. Not one wasted word. And below are a handful of my favorite thoughts out of many memorable messages.
