📱 Today’s tip: Before you go to bed, move your email away from your phone home screen.

You know, you know: You should stop checking your email the moment you wake up. You have the whole day to find out that your library books are due, and that your overeager client is “just checking in” on the project you still have a week to complete. But it’s a tough habit to break.

When willpower alone doesn’t work, you need to take more drastic measures. In this case, Laura Vanderkam suggests moving your inbox off your phone’s home screen. Replace it with something else that makes you feel good — a mediation app or a playlist of uplifting music to start your day, perhaps. Vanderkam writes: “If you’re going to start the day plugged in, do it in a way that gives you energy instead of sapping it.”
