😌 Today’s tip: Meditation can happen anywhere and anytime.

We tend to think of meditation as an invitation to stillness: a moment of pause, taken from a cross-legged seat. But Zen Buddhism offers an alternate — and perhaps unexpected — path toward transcendence: doing stuff.

“The classic path to liberation involves action and alchemy, channeling philosophical understanding into the practice of a craft,” writes Ephrat Livni. This practice of “active meditation” asks that you give yourself fully to whatever task is before you, whether it’s washing the dishes or replying to an email. When you’re fully engaged in each moment, you’re likelier to uncover the extraordinary facets of your everyday life.
