🧠 Today’s tip: Prep your mind for the day ahead with a short, fun mental task first thing in the morning.

Think of it like stretching before a hard workout or idling to warm up your car’s engine: Your brain will work better if you don’t start it from completely cold.

Pick a slightly challenging mental activity that you’ll genuinely enjoy: Play a game on your phone. Do the sudoku puzzle in your newspaper. The writer Norman Mailer, who used to start each morning with crossword puzzles and solitaire before sitting down to write, called it “combing his mind.”
