Today’s tip: Arrange your room so that the first thing you see when you wake up is something that brings you joy.

A project for this pandemic winter: Set yourself up to live your best indoor, at-home, cabin-fever-avoiding life, advises Bonsu Thompson, starting first thing in the morning. “We are visual creatures that are affected by colors and design more than we’re collectively aware,” he writes. “Every morning, your eyes should open to whatever will spark a ray of sunshine within,” like a framed photo on your dresser or a wall painted a favorite color. If your day is almost entirely at home, let that first minute set the tone for all the ones that follow.
